Automation System Administrator
An engineer is required for the Run Book Automation team to work on several key initiatives. These initiatives primarily include integration of third party software into the environment as highly scalable and resilient; building tools to support the applications operationally, working on programming frameworks for end users to adopt the product.
- The candidate will be primarily exposed to Linux, Perl, Apache/Tomcat, distributed file systems, load balancing and clustering technologies.
- The candidate must have a good understanding or experience with enterprise management theories and technologies.
- The candidate will be required to demonstrate a broad exposure to various technologies along with a deep technical knowledge (specifically in the web, infrastructure, and network space).
- Additionally, the candidate must possess a strong ability to coordinate and execute tasks across technology silos / divisions, and must demonstrate superior communication skills as to seamlessly operate with all levels of staff.
- The engineer will be working in a globally distributed engineering and operations team, close collaboration with colleagues in operations and in other geographies is a key component of the role.
Qualifications:
- Good understanding of the Linux operating system
- Scripting proficiency with Perl/Python, Shell, Javascript, XML, Regular Expressions
- Solid understanding of the 'big picture', from TCP/network level concerns through browser rendering and server-side runtime
- Experience with Java, Apache/Tomcat
- Experience with ANSI SQL (preferred experience with MySQL)
- Experience with Enterprise Management, specifically with regard to High Availability
- Experience with Systems Engineering and Administration - Experience with load/capacity testing and its underpinning theory
- Preferred Experience with Client-side web technologies including HTML5, CSS, SPDY, Flash/Flex, Ajax/JSON Networking
- Understanding of TCP/IP at its various layers
- Ability to troubleshoot problems at the networking layer - - Understanding, and experience with, load-balancing and clustering
