Our client located in the Seattle metropolitan area (North) is seeking an Automation Engineer to drive the design, integration, and optimization of smart systems supporting the production of high-performance thermal protection and sealing components. You'll play a key role in scaling next-generation products made from advanced materials contributing directly to innovation in aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement automation systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including engineering, production, and quality-to define automation requirements and ensure seamless integration with existing workflows.
Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and control systems.
Manage automation projects from concept through commissioning, including vendor coordination, testing, and validation.
Support the industrialization of new products by developing automation solutions compatible with advanced materials and custom manufacturing processes.
Monitor performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and drive improvements through data analysis and process optimization.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on automation, lean manufacturing, and systems reliability.
Develop technical documentation and provide support and training to production and maintenance personnel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
4+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in a manufacturing environment involving high-performance or composite materials.
Strong proficiency with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols
Hands-on knowledge of automation hardware, robotic systems, and sensor networks.
