AVNA Senior Automation Engineer
Position:
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will report directly to the Director, NPI Engineering and will be responsible for leading and managing several facets of Machine Design, Machine Building and Automation. These include Automation Design, complete machine build, electrical/controls troubleshooting, tooling and component fabrication.
Overview:
Skilled Machine, Automation and Tooling Designer to design, build, develop and maintain manufacturing equipment, tooling and automated machinery. This is in support of manufacturing operations at AVNA.
Responsibilities:
Lead by example and live the AVNA ValuesPositive attitude and strong team playerGood attendance and on time to work (Flex schedule details TBD)Provide concepts and budgetary numbers for new machine builds Design, assemble and install new tooling and Automation components onto machinesInterpret blueprints, CAD models and technical drawings to ensure builds are accurateCollaborate with both engineering and production teams to implement process improvementsPerform Troubleshooting, maintenance and make any adjustments on automated systems and machineryDrive for results and satisfaction of both internal and external customersOrganize, prioritize, plan, drive projects and are capable of multitaskingSubmit both continuous improvement and safety ideas during Automation/Machine builds, repairs and preventive maintenanceEnsure all machine builds, automation and tools are up to both quality and safety standardsMentor Automation Team members
Requirements:
Proven experience with custom machine building and Automation
Have a strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, automation systems, electrical systems, and safety control/monitoring
Precision machined and tooling component fit-ups and overall understanding of mechanical assemblys
Proficient in the use of measuring and fabrication equipment
Strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
Committed to workplace safety along with preventative maintenance
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

Key Experience
Ten years minimum experience with automation, machine building and tool design
Experience with Machine Sequence FMEA
Working to tight tolerances
Experience with CNC Control and Logic
Knowledge of Pneumatics and Pneumatic controls
Knowledge of motion control systems and systems integration
Electrical schematic knowledge
Education Experience:
BS/BSET in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering preferred
