About Fonda Technologies
Fonda is an all-in-one restaurant technology platform based in Silicon Valley, California, helping independent restaurants grow their online sales. The platform combines menu optimization, direct online ordering, multi-channel delivery integration (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub), marketing campaigns, and consolidated weekly payouts — giving restaurant owners a single system to run their online business instead of juggling multiple apps and fees. Fonda partners with restaurants across the country and has helped its partners increase online sales anywhere from 2x to 5x. Learn more at mifonda.io.
About the Role
Fonda is looking for a motivated, curious intern to help our team work smarter through automation and AI. You'll partner directly with staff across different functions — accounting, menu creation, customer support, finance, and operations — to identify repetitive or time-consuming tasks, then help design and build lightweight tools and workflows that make the team more efficient.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership opportunity to see how a fast-moving restaurant tech company actually operates, and to leave a visible mark on how the team works by the end of your internship.
What You'll Do
Shadow and interview team members across departments to map out manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes that could benefit from automation
Prototype solutions using tools like OpenClaw and Claude to streamline workflows — this could include document processing, data entry, reporting, order handling, or internal communications Collaborate with the relevant team to test, refine, and roll out tools that solve real day-to-day problems
Document what you build so the team can maintain and extend it after your internship ends
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders as projects progress
What We're Looking For
Currently pursuing a degree (or recently graduated) in computer science, business, data science, or a related field
Comfortable — or eager to get comfortable — working with AI tools and basic automation/scripting concepts
Strong communicator who can work across teams with different priorities and technical comfort levels
Self-directed and curious; comfortable identifying problems as much as solving them
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required
Logistics
Format: Fully remote/virtual. Fonda's team works virtually, so this internship has limited in-person interaction depending on your location.
Duration: Flexible around your schedule — roughly mid-July through late August/early September for the summer term, with the option to continue into the academic year.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
Academic Credit Requirement: Because this is an unpaid position, candidates must be eligible to receive academic credit through their college or university for the duration of the internship, and must be able to provide documentation of this arrangement (e.g., a letter or form from their school's internship/career office) prior to starting.
