    Job Description

Automation Maintenance Specialist — CNC Mills and Welding Robots

Can you pinpoint a failing sensor before it stops a line? Do you enjoy bringing a stubborn CNC HMC back to spec and then documenting exactly how you did it? Are you motivated by improving OEE through smart fixes and teamwork?

    Your impact

    • Own corrective, preventive, and daily maintenance for robotic welding cells, CNC HMC machines, SPMs, assembly machines, press assembly, compressors, and facility equipment—with minimal supervision.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, resolve faults rapidly, and keep production moving.
    • Perform repairs and full or partial rebuilds as scheduled; capture accurate notes, parts used, and follow-up actions.
    • Participate actively in continuous improvement to elevate equipment reliability and overall plant OEE; partner effectively across teams.

    What you need to succeed

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Proven experience diagnosing and fixing CNC HMC mills (Makino / Moriseiki), welding robots, press assembly systems, compressors, and general facility equipment.
    • Completion of industrial maintenance mechanical/hydraulic coursework or equivalent practical experience.
    • Working knowledge of sensors, PLC logic, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical circuits, and complex machinery.
    • Ability to coach, train, lead, direct, instruct, and discipline employees when required.
    • Strong awareness of MIOSHA and applicable government safety requirements; models safe behavior.
    • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to document work and share information.
    • Excellent communication, organization, time management, and a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation.

    Working conditions

    • Stand for long periods on the shop floor.
    • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Work flexible hours and be available for 1st or 2nd shift coverage.

    Why this role?

You’ll be the go-to problem solver on highly automated equipment—keeping complex CNC and welding systems running at their best while building a culture of reliability and continuous improvement.
