Automation Processing Coordinator

Duties: Essential Functions

• Provide training and support for staff in automation and processing areas.
• Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures and quality control processes as needed.
• Possess a thorough knowledge of automation systems with the ability to recognize and correct issues with minimal support.
• Prepare reports to illustrate the performance of automation for specimen processing, including investigating error trends, new test code builds, test code updates, and tube labeling compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of automation in processing areas.
• Act as the primary liaison with service technicians to minimize impact and shorten downtime during automation servicing or repair.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas and troubleshoot as needed.
• Follow all policies regarding performance of maintenance, function checks, and quality control with proper documentation.

Skills

• Limit access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to perform job duties.
• Share information only on a need-to-know basis for work purposes.
• Access to verbal, written, and electronic PHI for this job is determined based on job level and responsibility within the organization. Computerized access to PHI is controlled via user ID and password.
