PACIV, a global leader in industrial automation solutions servicing the Life Sciences sector, is looking for an Automation Technical Lead to support the design, implementation, and optimization of automation systems in regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. This role ensures reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of utilities and facility systems supporting production processes.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
  • Lead automation efforts for utilities and BMS, including HVAC, central plant, and critical systems
  • Define and manage technical requirements (URS, FRS, control strategies, and system architecture)
  • Review and guide design deliverables such as P&IDs, control diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Support vendor selection, technical evaluations, and scope definition
  • Oversee commissioning activities, including FAT, SAT, and system startup
  • Coordinate with Facilities, Operations, IT/OT, and external vendors
  • Troubleshoot systems and support root cause analysis and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, site procedures, and documentation practices
  • Mentor team members and establish automation and BMS standards
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls) or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in automation, BMS, or utilities systems
  • Hands-on experience with BMS/automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell)
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and utility systems
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills
Desired Hard Skills:
  • Experience in regulated environments (GMP/GxP)
  • Knowledge of system integration (SCADA, historians, CMMS)
  • Familiarity with OT networks and industrial cybersecurity
  • Experience with HMI/BMS graphics and alarm management
  • Relevant certifications (PE, PMP, or vendor certifications)
