2nd Shift Automation Technician - Elgin, ILAre you a hands-on technician who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys solving problems on cutting-edge automated equipment? We are seeking a driven 2nd Shift Automation Technician to join a growing team where your technical expertise will directly impact production performance, uptime, and operational success. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with electrical and mechanical aptitude who wants to work with advanced automation systems, troubleshoot complex equipment, and play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives.What You'll DoInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade electrical equipment and electronic controls on automated production machineryProgram, adjust, and optimize automation systems to maximize productivity and minimize downtimeRead and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, work orders, and bills of materialsComplete point-to-point wiring and install components such as PLCs, relays, sensors, switches, indicator lights, and other control devicesSet up, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and related automation equipmentPartner with internal teams to gather requirements and help develop control system specifications and wiring layoutsPerform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and long-term performanceIdentify opportunities for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and maintenance optimizationSupport rapid response troubleshooting for production issues and equipment failuresAssist with quality initiatives and ensure production standards are consistently achievedWhat You BringHigh school diploma or equivalent required1+ years of related automation, maintenance, electrical, or manufacturing experience preferredStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience working with PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, and industrial controls preferredAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong organizational skills and excellent attention to detailComfortable using databases, maintenance systems, and reporting toolsTeam-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency and accountabilityWhy This Opportunity Stands OutWork on advanced automated manufacturing equipmentStable company with growth opportunitiesStrong team environment with hands-on leadershipExcellent opportunity to build your automation careerMake a visible impact every day on production success Automation Technician (Entry-Level to Experienced)??
