Job Title: Automation Technician ASRS / AMR Systems
Location: Libertyville, IL
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Automation Technician with 3 7 years of experience in industrial automation, maintenance, or automated material handling systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) to ensure maximum system uptime and efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ASRS and AMR systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes, conveyors, shuttles, lifts, and AMRs.
- Troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), motors, drives, sensors, RFID, vision systems, and industrial controls.
- Support installation, commissioning, and startup of automation systems.
- Work with Engineering, Operations, IT, and WMS/WCS teams to resolve automation and interface issues.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to improve system reliability.
- Maintain maintenance records, PM documentation, and follow all safety procedures.
- Assist with SOP development, system upgrades, and vendor support.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- 3 7 years of experience in industrial automation, maintenance, or material handling systems.
- Hands-on experience with ASRS, AMRs/AGVs, conveyors, cranes, shuttles, and lifts.
- Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (24VDC/480VAC), sensors, actuators, and industrial controls.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
