Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Automation Technician II in San Diego, CA to support and grow commercial mechanical operations across the region.
Impact
Deliver building automation projects that improve comfort, energy use, and reliability.
Cut commissioning time through clean designs and accurate point lists.
Build long-term service relationships with owners and facility teams.
Mentor technicians and engineers on controls best practices.
Responsibilities
Design, install, or service BAS on commercial HVAC systems.
Work with Niagara, Tridium, Distech, Siemens, or Schneider platforms.
Program and commission DDC controllers and graphics.
Coordinate with mechanical contractors and electricians on field wiring.
Build and review point lists, sequences of operation, and submittals.
Troubleshoot communication, hardware, and software issues.
Document changes and turn over clean as-builts.
Support service and warranty calls as needed.
Requirements
Must-Haves
3+ years of building automation experience.
Hands-on with Niagara/Tridium or comparable BAS platform.
Strong electrical and HVAC fundamentals.
Valid driver's license.
Nice-to-Haves
Tridium Niagara N4 certification.
BACnet, Modbus, or LON protocol experience.
OSHA 30.
