Now Hiring: Automotive Account / Customer Operations Manager
Location: Lincoln, AL — On-site at Customer PlantEmployment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Account / Customer Operations professional to support a key customer account and drive supply chain, logistics, and operational performance.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building customer relationships, solving problems, identifying new business opportunities, and working in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key automotive customers.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer supply chain and logistics requirements.
- Monitor KPI metrics and drive improvements in customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Lead customer business reviews covering performance, issues, opportunities, and long-term plans.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and potential customers.
- Develop supply chain and logistics solutions that create value for customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams on load bookings, carrier selection, service levels, and cost reduction.
- Participate in RFQs and coordinate customer meetings and reviews.
- Develop and maintain long-term account plans.
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop solutions for new opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing and service agreements based on market conditions, capacity, seasonality, and historical lane data.
- Monitor on-time pickups, deliveries, equipment requirements, and other customer-specific needs.
- Resolve operational issues and escalate when necessary.
- Monitor team performance and ensure accurate and timely system updates and reporting.
- Represent the organization professionally with customers and industry partners.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree with 1–3 years of related experience preferred, OR
- Associate degree with 5 years of related experience, OR
- 6+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Automotive account experience is required.
- Transportation or logistics experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in sales, customer service, account management, or negotiation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and phone skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience managing automotive customer accounts and a strong understanding of transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be proactive, customer-focused, comfortable with KPIs and negotiations, and able to identify opportunities while resolving operational challenges.
This position is based in Lincoln, AL and requires on-site work at a customer plant.
