As a faculty member, you will bridge the gap between textbook theory and shop reality. You will teach a dynamic combination of:
Non-Structural Analysis and Repair: Preparation, plastic repair, and outer body panel repairs—basic knowledge that serves as a base for later subjects.
Structural Analysis and Damage Repair:From frame straightening to welding and cutting, measuring, and pulling—these are the skills needed to build, inspect, and repair vehicle structures.
Painting and Refinishing: Masterminding the "finish" of the vehicle—Surface preparation, spray equipment operation, color matching, and paint application.
Mechanical and Electrical Components: Going under the hood—Suspension and steering, electrical systems, brakes, and heating/air conditioning systems.

Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation.

I-CAR Training in Auto Collision Repair
Required Experience
Five years full-time “on the line” experience in Auto Collision Repair with some technical knowledge of Auto Body Painting
3 or more years of supervisory work experience in the Auto Collision Repair industry
ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Auto Collision Repair is required within the first year of hire.
These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position. Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.
Current knowledge of Automotive Collision & Repair technical skills, with recent auto collision industry experience.
Experience mentoring, teaching or training others.
Developing learning materials, in an academic environment or workplace instructional role.
Demonstrated strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective and contributing member of a team.
Demonstrated proficiency using 21st century teaching technologies, including presentation and instructional software applications, and common courseware design programs.
Demonstrates an awareness of the need to teach industry-specific content in inclusive methods that value individual experiences and diverse backgrounds, including culture, ethnic, gender, language, and socioeconomic status.
