    Automotive Controller – New Car Franchise Dealership

    Full-Time | On-Site | Competitive Salary + Benefits


    Overview:


    A highly regarded, multi-department new car franchise dealership is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all financial operations. This opportunity is ideal for a strategic, detail-driven professional who understands the inner workings of a dealership and thrives in a high-performance environment.


    As the Controller, you’ll serve as a key financial advisor to the executive team while overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, compliance, budgeting, and manufacturer reporting. This is a critical leadership role with visibility across all departments, directly impacting profitability and operational effectiveness.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage all accounting operations including A/P, A/R, payroll, GL, and bank reconciliations
    • Prepare monthly financial statements in compliance with manufacturer requirements
    • Develop and maintain budgets, cash flow planning, and financial forecasts
    • Implement and monitor internal controls for regulatory and financial compliance
    • Ensure accurate data integrity within the DMS (Dealer Management System)
    • Partner with department heads to improve profitability and reduce expenses
    • Oversee floor plan management, inventory reconciliation, and manufacturer reporting
    • Prepare documents for audits and manage the annual audit process
    • Train, mentor, and supervise accounting and office staff
    • Ensure timely tax filings, licensing, and insurance compliance


    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience as an Automotive Controller in a franchised dealership
    • Strong command of dealership operations across variable, fixed, and F&I departments
    • Proficiency in major DMS platforms (Dealertrack, CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, etc.)
    • Deep knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
    • Strong analytical and Excel skills with a data-driven mindset
    • Proven leadership ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
