We are seeking an Automotive Deletions Manager to lead the vehicle de-fleet (deletions) function for the City/District. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end deletion process to ensure vehicles are transitioned from the rental fleet to sale, auction, or alternative channels efficiently and profitably. The ideal candidate will drive operational discipline, financial recovery, and inventory flow while leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
Develop, implement, and communicate operating plans to optimize the vehicle deletion lifecycle in alignment with business and company objectives
Direct and control all activities related to vehicle de-fleeting, including evaluation, reconditioning coordination, documentation, and preparation for auction or alternative sale channels
Manage performance against key metrics including days to deletion, overdue idle vehicles, venue quality average grade, cost per deletion, and financial recovery
Assess deletion inventory daily to prioritize vehicle processing based on business needs and aging targets
Partner with Service, Damage, and Parts leadership to ensure timely vehicle readiness and minimize percent out of service
Coordinate transportation logistics and auction scheduling to support efficient vehicle disposition
Ensure all vehicle documentation, title processing (if applicable), and system updates are accurate and completed in a timely manner
Forecast, budget, and manage financial drivers related to vehicle disposition, including reconditioning expense control and recovery optimization
Monitor auction performance results and identify opportunities to improve resale value and reduce days to sale
Manage vendor relationships related to auctions, transportation providers, and supporting services, ensuring compliance with service level agreements
Conduct audits to ensure adherence to company policies, financial controls, and documentation standards
Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, recognition, and performance management of deletion coordinators and support staff
Partner with Human Resources to manage employee relations matters consistently and fairly
Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring all safety standards and company policies are followed
Perform additional duties as directed by management

What We're Looking For:
High School diploma required; 2-4 year college degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Minimum of 2-4 years management experience in fleet operations, rental car, automotive remarketing, auto sales, or related field
Experience overseeing vehicle deletions, auction preparation, or automotive inventory management preferred
Strong financial acumen with experience managing KPIs, budgets, and expense control
Proven ability to manage inventory flow and meet aging targets
Vendor management and negotiation skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Demonstrated leadership and team development capability
Valid driver's license required
Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on business needs
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and oversee multiple operational work areas
