Xcite Automotive is seeking an Automotive Detail Assistant Manager for our dealership partners in Alhambra, California!
Job Description : An Assistant Manager will help support daily workflow, guide the detail team, complete quality checks, and assist with interior and exterior detailing as needed. This role is best for someone who can lead by example, stay organized in a fast-paced dealership environment, and help ensure vehicles are cleaned, detailed, and retail-ready. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with experience in automotive detailing, dealership reconditioning, car wash operations, fleet washing, or vehicle prep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily detail shop operations, vehicle workflow, and production priorities
- Lead, train, and support detailers, car wash attendants, porters, and reconditioning team members
- Perform hands-on interior and exterior detailing as needed
- Complete quality control checks to ensure vehicles are clean, detailed, and dealership-ready
- Monitor turnaround time, productivity, and vehicle completion status
- Communicate shop updates, delays, staffing needs, and quality concerns to management
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in automotive detailing, dealership detailing, car wash operations, fleet washing, or vehicle reconditioning
- Experience leading, supporting, or training team members in a detail shop, car wash, dealership, or fast-paced automotive environment
- Strong knowledge of interior and exterior detailing, including washing, vacuuming, shampooing, buffing, polishing, waxing, and final touch-ups
- Ability to support daily vehicle workflow, production priorities, turnaround time, and quality standards
- Comfortable performing hands-on detail work while helping guide and support the team
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete quality checks and ensure vehicles are dealership-ready
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work indoors or outdoors throughout the day
- Weekend work is required. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays and/or Sundays as part of the regular schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a lead, assistant manager, supervisor, or team support role within an automotive detail shop, car wash, dealership, or reconditioning environment
- Experience helping manage daily vehicle workflow, detail priorities, turnaround time, and quality standards
- Experience training, guiding, or supporting detailers, car wash attendants, porters, or vehicle prep team members
- Strong knowledge of interior and exterior detailing, including washing, vacuuming, shampooing, buffing, polishing, waxing, and final touch-ups
- Strong attention to quality control, vehicle presentation, and dealership-ready standards
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on automotive environment
