Honor LSV builds premium electric vehicles in Summerville, South Carolina. We are looking for an electrical technician who understands vehicle electrical systems and can do more than simply follow assembly instructions.
This is a hands on production and troubleshooting position. You do not need to be an electrical engineer. You do need to understand basic direct current electrical systems, know how to use a multimeter, and be able to diagnose why something does not work.
Experience with automotive, marine, RV, powersports, golf carts, forklifts, industrial equipment, or other mobile electrical systems is highly relevant.
What you will actually do
Build and install vehicle wiring harnesses and electrical components
Diagnose electrical problems on completed and partially completed vehicles
Work with 12 volt and 48 volt direct current systems
Read basic wiring diagrams, trace circuits, and use a multimeter to check voltage, continuity, resistance, grounds, switches, sensors, and wiring
Find bad connections, damaged wires, incorrect pinouts, failed components, and assembly mistakes
Strip, crimp, terminate, repair, and route wiring correctly
Install and test switches, lights, displays, control modules, accessories, connectors, and related components
Work with the manufacturing team to identify recurring problems and improve how vehicles are built, including some mechanical assembly when needed
What we are looking for
You should already have a practical experience working with electrical systems
We care more about whether you understand what you are doing than where you learned it
A good candidate might have worked as an automotive electrical technician, mechanic, marine technician, RV technician, golf cart technician, powersports technician, electrical assembler, or industrial maintenance technician
You should be comfortable with basic direct current electrical theory, 12 volt vehicle electrical systems, using a digital multimeter, reading simple wiring diagrams, proper wire stripping and termination, and troubleshooting instead of simply replacing parts until something works
We want someone who gets curious when something electrical does not work. If a light, display, horn, controller, switch, or accessory is dead, your first reaction should be to figure out where the voltage stopped and why
Experience with 48 volt electrical systems, CAN communication, lithium battery systems, motor controllers, or electric vehicles is a major advantage, but not required
This is not a position for someone whose electrical experience consists only of plugging connectors together according to a work instruction
How we work
We are building a manufacturing operation, not staffing an assembly line
We want people who take pride in doing the job correctly, notice when something is wrong, and fix problems instead of passing them on to the next person. Craftmanship matters here. So does pace. We expect people to work hard while they are here
Shoe up on time. Do good work. Help the people around you. Take responsibility for your mistakes. Treat everyone in the building with respect. Drama, harassment, bullying, and other bad behavior are not tolerated
If you want to spend the day doing the minimum required to get through your shift, this is probably not the right shop
If you like building things, solving problems, getting better at your trade, and being part of a team that is actively improving how it works, you will fit much better
We work hard, and we structure the job so people can have a life outside the building.
