
Minimum Qualifications
Eighth grade. One year of experience operating medium and/or heavy-duty automotive or medium and/or heavy-duty construction equipment such as 10 cubic yard (or larger) dump trucks, bucket trucks, 40-foot flatbed with tractors, backhoes, root pruners, auger trucks, bobcats, forklifts, dozers or similar equipment is required. Must possess a CDL/Class A.

Employees in this position operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to road graders, cranes, excavators, backhoes, mechanical harvesters, boats, skid steers, dump trucks, and equipment trailers, to support roadway, drainage, canal, and waterway operations.
Responsibilities include assisting with the repair and maintenance of sidewalks, pavement, guardrails, headwalls, canal banks, and stormwater infrastructure. Employees perform grading, excavation, aquatic vegetation removal, debris removal, and the hauling of materials and equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of public infrastructure.
This position is designated as essential personnel. Employees are required to respond to after-hours emergencies and report for duty during pre-storm preparation, storm response, and post-storm recovery operations as needed.
