Position Overview

The Automotive Integration Coordinator and Software Change Support specialist plays a pivotal role within modern automotive engineering organizations, bridging the gap between hardware, software, and system-level integration. This professional is responsible for coordinating the seamless introduction, validation, and deployment of new and updated software components, ensuring their compatibility with evolving hardware and system architectures. The position demands a blend of technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integration Planning & Coordination:
  • Develop and maintain detailed integration schedules, aligning software releases with hardware readiness, validation activities, and project milestones.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including software, hardware, system engineering, testing, and production to ensure all integration tasks are clearly defined and executed efficiently.
  • Facilitate regular integration meetings and reviews, tracking progress and proactively identifying & resolving risks or bottlenecks.
Software Change Management:
Oversee the intake, evaluation, and prioritization of software change requests from internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
Ensure rigorous documentation, version control, and traceability for all software changes, adhering to industry standards (e.g., ASPICE, ISO 26262).
Coordinate the testing and validation of software changes prior to deployment, including regression analysis and system-level impact assessment.
Work closely with quality assurance and compliance teams to ensure every software release meets regulatory and corporate standards.
Collaboration & Communication:
Act as the primary liaison between software development, systems engineering, validation & verification, and production teams for all integration-related activities.
Communicate integration and change management status, issues, and progress regularly to project management, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Develop and deliver training or briefing materials to internal teams regarding integration processes, software updates, and expected impacts.
Process Improvement & Best Practices:
Contribute to the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of integration and change management processes and tools.
Monitor industry trends and technological advancements, recommending adoption of best-in-class tools or practices to enhance integration efficiency and software quality.
Supplier & Customer Coordination:
Engage with external suppliers and technology partners to align integration activities, share requirements, and resolve interface issues.
Support customer-facing teams in managing software updates, troubleshooting post-deployment issues, and gathering feedback for future improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 2-5 years of experience in automotive integration, software change management, or a similar role within the automotive or mobility sector.
  • Familiarity with automotive software development processes, standards (e.g., ASPICE, ISO 26262), and tools (e.g., version control systems, requirements management tools).
  • Demonstrated experience with system-level integration, validation, and troubleshooting of embedded software in automotive environments.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience working with both internal teams and external suppliers or customers.
  • Knowledge of automotive network protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) and diagnostic tools is desirable.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills (e.g., German, Japanese, Mandarin) are an asset for global coordination.

  • Practical understanding of embedded systems, ECU architecture, and vehicle system interdependencies.
  • Experience with agile software development, continuous integration, and DevOps methodologies.
