Description:As a member of the Transportation Team at Lockheed Martin Space, you, as an Automotive Mechanic-A, will have the pride of working along a motivated group of professionals who are eager to provide the best service to the greater Lockheed Martin Space team. An Automotive Mechanic-A will have the opportunity to fulfil the critical role of maintaining a multifunctional fleet in a dynamic environment. Additionally, you will work closely with critical fleet equipment responsible for supporting the development and movement of space hardware.

Transportation Team members are dedicated, adaptable, and thrive in settings with everchanging challenges and priorities. Our Automotive Mechanics are heavily relied upon should any issues arise in support of space hardware movements and can expect to service a wide array of equipment types (i.e. tractor trailers, generators, transtackers, etc.), and support critical movements.

Specific responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment to support our goal of maintaining the fleet to optimal working condition
  • Performing requested repairs and adjustments on fleet equipment
  • Routinely cleaning and organizing your immediate work area upon completion of any repairs and preventative maintenance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Light/Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Experience
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanical Experience
  • Knowledge of Diagnostics, brakes, diesel and gas engines

Desired Skills:

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications
  • Class A or B CDL
  • HAZMAT Endorsement
  • ANSI Certified for PALDs
  • DOT Certified
  • State Emissions Certified
  • Transtacker and Forklift Experience

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
