Description:
The Automotive Worker supports the maintenance, inspection, and repair of government vehicles and equipment used in park operations. This position assists with servicing light and heavy-duty vehicles, performing basic mechanical diagnostics, and ensuring that fleet assets are safe, reliable, and ready for use by park staff. The role provides hands-on experience in automotive maintenance, preventive care, and fleet management within a National Park or other public land management setting.
Things unique about this location/position This position is provided through a National Park Foundation Grant and will support trail, recreation, and road maintenance at Bryce Canyon National Park. This position is a full-time, approximately 5-month position based out of Bryce Canyon National Park beginning in August 2026.
Free or reduced-cost housing in the park will be provided during the duration of this position inside Bryce Canyon National Park.
Additionally, this position will be mentored by Bryce Canyon's maintenance and automotive specialists and will provide assistance to maintain light and heavy-duty road and trail maintenance machines utilized during all seasons throughout the park.
Bryce Canyon National Park and its surrounding regions provide opportunities to experience world-class outdoor recreation, geology, wildlife, and dark skies.
Schedule: 20-40 hours per week, depending on enrollment status
