Office Manager – Automotive DealershipHonda of Bridgewater | Bridgewater, NJHonda of Bridgewater is seeking an experienced Office Manager to lead our dealership accounting and administrative operations. This is not an entry-level office management position. We are looking for a professional with 3–5 years of recent automotive dealership office management experience who understands the day-to-day operations of a franchised dealership and can seamlessly oversee the accounting office while supporting executive management.The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of dealership accounting, sales and finance processes, manufacturer requirements, and the terminology used throughout an automotive dealership. They must be comfortable working with every department-including Sales, Finance, Service, Parts, and Executive Management-to ensure the dealership operates efficiently and maintains accurate financial records.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily operations of the dealership accounting office.Supervise and mentor office personnel while fostering a professional, team-oriented work environment.Ensure accurate and timely posting of new and used vehicle deals.Oversee funding, Contracts in Transit (CIT), deal postings, contract cancellations, and unwind transactions.Review deal jackets for completeness, compliance, and accounting accuracy.Manage customer and lender payoffs, refunds, warranty cancellations, GAP cancellations, service contract cancellations, and ancillary product cancellations.Reconcile bank accounts, floorplan accounts, manufacturer receivables, and accounting schedules.Monitor and resolve aged receivable and payable schedules.Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.Assist in preparing financial statements and maintaining compliance with dealership accounting standards.Ensure compliance with manufacturer policies, state regulations, and dealership procedures.Work closely with dealership leadership to improve office efficiency and accounting processes.Serve as a resource for Sales, Finance, and Service departments regarding dealership accounting procedures.Perform additional accounting, administrative, and operational duties as assigned. Required QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of recent automotive dealership office management or dealership accounting management experience is required.Automotive dealership experience is mandatory. Candidates without dealership experience will not be considered.Strong understanding of the complete dealership sales cycle, including:Vehicle deal processingFundingContracts in Transit (CIT)Floorplan accountingDeal jacketsCustomer and lender payoffsTitle and registration processesWarranty and product cancellationsManufacturer receivablesMonth-end closing proceduresFinancial statement preparationAccounting schedules and reconciliationsFamiliarity with dealership terminology and the day-to-day operations of a franchised automotive dealership.Experience using CDK is strongly preferred.
