    Operations Specialist (Field Performance)

    Location: Portland, ME

    Salary: $72,000/year + Bonus + $500/month Vehicle Allowance

    Field-Based | Travel up to 80%


    Position Overview

    We’re looking for a driven Operations Specialist to support and elevate performance across a network of automotive service locations. In this field-based role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor and coach—helping teams improve sales, streamline operations, and deliver a top-tier customer experience.

    This position is ideal for someone who thrives on the road, enjoys working directly with teams, and has a passion for operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.


    What You’ll Do

    Drive Operational Excellence

    • Partner with service locations to improve daily operations and performance
    • Ensure alignment with regional goals, processes, and brand standards
    • Identify inefficiencies and implement practical, results-driven solutions

    Coach & Develop Teams

    • Train staff on service processes, sales techniques, and inspection standards
    • Provide hands-on coaching to improve team performance and accountability
    • Serve as the go-to expert for light repair and express service operations

    Analyze Performance & Improve Results

    • Review KPIs and Repair Orders (ROs) to uncover trends and opportunities
    • Develop and implement action plans to close performance gaps
    • Track progress and drive measurable improvements across locations

    Support Sales & Service Growth

    • Assist with tire and general service sales strategies
    • Help optimize inventory, pricing, and product offerings
    • Plan and support quarterly sales events and promotions

    Ensure Quality & Compliance

    • Conduct operational audits focused on workflow, cycle times, and service quality
    • Monitor adherence to safety, cleanliness, and customer service standards
    • Ensure accurate use of systems, processes, and reporting tools

    Field Support & Projects

    • Maintain detailed visit reports and performance documentation
    • Support local marketing efforts, including SEO and competitive analysis
    • Contribute to regional initiatives and special projects


    What You Bring

    Experience & Background

    • Experience in automotive service, retail operations, or multi-site environments
    • Strong understanding of service workflows, sales processes, and customer experience

    Skills & Strengths

    • Excellent coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills
    • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into action
    • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field

    Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
    • Comfortable working with operational data and reporting tools

    Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license required
    • Ability to travel up to 80% (including overnight travel)
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s preferred)
