AUTOMOTIVE PAINT POLISHERLocation: Auburn Hills, MIPay Rate: $20 - $24 per hourShift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PMAbout the OpportunityOur client is seeking an experienced Automotive Paint Polisher to join its vehicle finishing team in Auburn Hills. This hands-on position is responsible for wet sanding, buffing, polishing, and inspecting exterior vehicle components and fully assembled vehicles to ensure they meet established production and quality standards.The ideal candidate has professional automotive paint or body shop experience, a strong eye for surface imperfections, and the ability to produce a smooth, high-quality finish without damaging the painted surface.Essential ResponsibilitiesWet sand, buff, rub, and polish vehicle panels, exterior components, and completed vehicles.Remove surface imperfections, including scratches, sanding marks, paint defects, dirt nibs, and minor blemishes.Use polishers, dual-action sanders, pads, compounds, and other finishing products safely and effectively.Polish individual automotive parts or complete vehicles without burning through or damaging the paint.Inspect painted surfaces before, during, and after the polishing process.Identify paint flaws and determine whether additional sanding, buffing, or corrective work is required.Document additional quality concerns and promptly communicate them to the Team Leader or Manager.Request assistance when defects or repairs fall outside the scope of the assigned work.Follow established production, quality, and safety procedures.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.Assist teammates and other departments as production needs require.QualificationsValid driver’s license required.Previous experience working in a professional automotive paint shop, collision center, body shop, or vehicle finishing environment.Working knowledge of automotive paint preparation and polishing techniques.Experience using polishers, dual-action sanders, compounds, pads, and related paint-finishing products.Ability to identify scratches, paint defects, sanding marks, and other surface imperfections.Must possess basic to standard-level automotive paint preparation and polishing tools.High school diploma or GED preferred.Skills and AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing a quality finish.Ability to multitask while completing assigned work accurately and on schedule.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.Clear verbal and written communication skills.Dependable, flexible, and willing to assist or train team members as needed.Ability to work independently while recognizing when additional assistance is required.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive polishing movements throughout the shift.Ability to safely operate sanding and polishing equipment for extended periods.Ability to lift and move automotive parts, tools, and materials as required.Comfortable working in an automotive production and paint-shop environment.Qualified candidates with automotive wet-sanding, buffing, detailing, paint correction, or collision-repair experience are encouraged to apply.#IND1#ZR
