Job Summary We are looking for an Automotive Parts Specialist to join the team at our busy auto parts center. If you are a mechanically-inclined automotive professional with strong parts knowledge and communication skills, we want to hear from you.
Assists internal and external customers (retail and wholesale) with parts requests to ensure that the correct part is obtained the first time. This includes identifying the correct parts and locating them out of inventory or placing orders for the requested parts. Also, assists in the Parts Department operations by maintaining and tracking the parts inventory and accessories. You will use your negotiation skills to secure the best prices on inventory and ensure a consistent balance between supply and demand. To succeed in this role, you must be highly organized and have in-depth knowledge of automotive parts.
Reports To: Parts Manager
Responsibilities
Maintain consistent inventory levels of parts to ensure auto repairs and sales can move forward without delay.
Record and track auto parts sales and repair work
Maintain auto parts warranty information
Greets all customers promptly, provides timely professional services.
Provides excellent customer service by listening to customer inquiries and requests, asking questions so as to ensure understanding of needs, and supplying parts in a timely manner.
Recommends related parts that are needed.
Provides customer a time estimate for obtaining part(s).
Determine competitive selling price.
Costs parts on invoice or repair order.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains positive working relationships with customers.
Informs customers when special order parts have arrived and will be delivered.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
At least one year of experience in auto repair or auto parts sales is required
Management experience is preferred
Strong customer service, administrative, and organizational skills
