Serra Ford Farmington Hills is seeking a motivated and highly organized Automotive Pre-Owned Service Technician to join our fast-paced, high-performing team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing pre-owned vehicles to ensure they meet dealership and manufacturer standards. Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
• Communicate directly with the Pre-Owned Manager regarding additional service needs and estimated repair times
• Execute warranty repairs following manufacturer specifications
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including keeping assigned work areas and vehicles orderly
• Collaborate with team members to meet service department goals and customer expectations

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as an automotive technician
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostic procedures
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and repair information
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong customer service skills with a team-oriented mindset
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and vehicles
• Fast learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and repair procedures

Skills / Qualifications

• Ability to quickly identify and resolve vehicle problems
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment and automotive repair tools
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Basic reading, computer, and math skills for repair documentation
• Ability to learn new technology and manufacturer service specifications
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
