Automotive Production Assembler

Location: Portage, IN

Pay: $15.50–$16.00 per hour

Shifts: 6:00am–2:30pm or 6:00pm–2:30am; Overtime and weekends as needed

A Day in the Life

You clock in, gear up, and step onto a clean, organized production floor. Your shift begins with a quick equipment check. From there, you rotate through stations where you place components, assemble parts, and package finished goods for an automotive customer. You keep a close eye on quality—visually inspecting pieces and verifying accuracy—then record counts for good parts and scrap so inventory stays precise. Throughout the day, you help keep your area neat and safe, collaborate with teammates, and jump in where needed to keep production on pace.

What You’ll Do

• Operate designated production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assemble components and pack products to meet production targets.
• Perform visual and manual inspections to confirm part accuracy and quality.
• Document production data for inventory control, including counts of good and scrap parts.
• Maintain housekeeping standards to keep your work area clean and safe.
• Support teammates and contribute to shared goals.
• Handle additional tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
• Knowledge of AITF16949 quality standards.
• Manual dexterity to assemble, pack, grip, and operate equipment.
• Solid communication skills to collaborate across all levels.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and use of visual touch-screen panels.
• Math skills sufficient for department-related tasks.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a team setting.
