HTI has an immediate opening with an automotive parts manufacturer in Greer, SC for an experienced
Automotive Quality Lab Technician. This is a direct hire, full-time, salaried position. The company offers comprehensive benefits and opportunity for growth and development. Medical, vision and dental benefits start on the first day of employment.
- Salary range: $55,000 - $60,000 / year, depending on experience and education
- Working hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Requirements:- 3+ years of recent laboratory/quality technician experience in the automotive parts manufacturing industry.
- Experience performing dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement equipment.
- Working knowledge of automotive components; hands-on vehicle repair experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of metrology, precision measurement, and test equipment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
- Experience assisting with root cause analysis and quality investigations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have High School Diploma or GED; 2-year technical degree is a plus.
- Must be local to the Upstate and able to commute to the Greer, SC location.
Summary: This team member will support product engineering, quality assurance, and warranty initiatives by performing automotive part testing, inspections, validation activities, and failure analysis on automotive components. This hands-on role is responsible for operating testing equipment, documenting inspection results, evaluating product performance, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. The technician works closely with Engineering, Quality, Warranty, and Warehouse teams to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
Job Duties:- Conduct inspections on new, existing, prototype, and warranty-returned parts.
- Perform laboratory testing and product validation on automotive parts and assemblies.
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement equipment.
- Support failure analysis investigations by identifying defects, documenting findings, and assisting with root cause analysis.
- Assist Engineering teams with prototype evaluation, product testing, and validation activities.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data, inspection results, photographs, and technical findings.
- Complete inspection documentation within ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Conduct warehouse inspections and coordinate with warehouse teams as needed.
- Safely disassemble and reassemble automotive components for evaluation.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable automotive quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
