The Controller will oversee a centralized accounting office supporting four dealerships (Mercedes, Porsche, Infiniti, and Nissan). As the Automotive Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our automotive business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning.ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsConduct in-depth cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost reductionMonitor performance metrics such as DOC Variance, CIT, Warranty Credit, Posting efficiency, etc.Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functionsImplement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policiesCollaborate with senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-makingManage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial partnersSupervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvementStay up-to-date with automotive industry trends and financial best practicesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the automotive industry.Strong knowledge of financial management principles, GAAP, and automotive industry financial practices.Proficiency in automotive accounting software (e.g., CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in the automotive sector.In-depth understanding of automotive supply chain and manufacturing processes.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining internal controls and ensuring regulatory compliance.BenefitsBenefits for full time employees include but are not limited to: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, EAP, 401(k), Paid Vacation, Employee Discounts.Cooper Auto Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer that recruits and hires qualified candidates without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, or veteran status.Job Location#J-18808-Ljbffr
