Automotive Service Technician — Drivability & Electronics

Here’s the deal

• When you work: Wednesday–Saturday (2:00pm–12:30am or 10:00pm–8:30am)
• What you earn: $25–$27 per hour
• Plus differentials: +$1.00 (2nd shift) and +$2.00 (3rd shift)

What you’ll take on

• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical circuits.
• Handle routine care: oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid service.
• Operate scan tools and test equipment to identify and verify concerns.
• Translate technical findings into clear recommendations for customers.
• Maintain a safe, orderly bay for efficient, high-quality work.
• Keep learning—embrace new tech and modern repair strategies.
• Share ideas and support teammates to elevate the customer experience.

What sets you up for success

• High school diploma or equivalent; automotive certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
• Solid command of vehicle systems and repair techniques.
• Comfort with computerized diagnostics and precision instruments.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Customer-focused communicator.
• Valid driver’s license; clean driving record.

Physical realities of the work

• Lift up to 70 pounds.
• Spend long periods standing and walking, both indoors and outdoors (as needed).
• Reach and grasp; push and pull tools, parts, and equipment.
• Crawl and crouch, sometimes within tight, confined spaces.
• Bend, stretch, squat, and kneel throughout the shift.
• Climb and operate at elevated heights.
• Work amid moderate to occasionally high noise.
• Potential exposure to biohazards and/or chemicals, plus outdoor elements.
• Hear and respond to spoken instructions and audible alarms.
• Perform repetitive motions of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Maintain visual acuity for close/distance work, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
