Automotive Technician | $30–$40/hr + Bonus | No Weekends

Location: Gaithersburg, MD
Schedule: Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM | No Weekends
Pay Rate: $30.00–$40.00 per hour + Production Bonus
Pay Type: Hourly + Tiered Production Bonus
Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join a well-established, family-owned automotive repair shop in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a skilled technician with at least five years of professional shop experience who enjoys hands-on repair work, wants to continue developing diagnostic skills, and values a collaborative team environment. Enjoy a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends, competitive hourly pay, production bonuses, and mentorship from ASE Master Certified owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on domestic, Asian, and light European vehicles.
  • Complete tire services, wheel alignments, brake repairs, suspension repairs, tune-ups, and basic drivetrain repairs.
  • Assist with vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting while continuing to develop diagnostic skills.
  • Follow established diagnostic and repair procedures to ensure accurate, high-quality repairs.
  • Perform Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) and document findings using the shop's management software.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with technicians, service advisors, and shop leadership to maintain an efficient workflow.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional automotive repair experience.
  • Strong foundation in general automotive maintenance and mechanical repair.
  • Basic automotive diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience performing wheel alignments and tire services is preferred.
  • ASE certifications are a plus and eligible for additional hourly incentives.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment while taking direction and continuing to develop professionally.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and maintain productivity.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: $30.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Production Bonus (per bi-weekly pay period):
    • 60–70 flagged hours: +$100
    • 75 flagged hours: +$150
    • 80 flagged hours: +$200
    • 85 flagged hours: +$250
  • ASE Certification Incentive: Additional $0.50 per hour for each ASE certification.
  • Medical contribution of up to $200 per month.
