Akkodis is seeking an Automotive Technician for a Contract with a client in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate has proven ability to cut and sew complex seat trim patterns to tight tolerances is essential, as the role requires accurately cutting materials and operating industrial sewing machines to assemble high-quality trim covers.
Rate Range: $30/Hour to $38/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Automotive Technician Job Responsibilities include:
Cut, prepare, and inspect fabric, leather, and vinyl materials using patterns and digital layouts to ensure accuracy and quality.
Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble trim covers, including seams, top-stitching, and decorative features to specification.
Install trim covers and assemble full seat components, including frames, foam, and hardware, ensuring proper fit and function.
Perform in-process quality checks on stitch quality, dimensions, and overall finish, correcting defects as needed.
Read and interpret work instructions, patterns, and technical drawings to support accurate builds.
Document production results and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; certification or training in upholstery, sewing, or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in seat trim sewing, upholstery, automotive interiors, or similar manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated ability to cut and sew complex trim patterns with high precision and operate industrial sewing equipment.
Experience in full seat assembly and strong attention to detail to ensure quality, fit, and finish standards are consistently met.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $38.00 per hour
