BOWEN SCARFF FORD is looking for Experienced Service Repair Technicians to join our huge 30+ technician team!  Other OEM experience is encouraged to apply and accepted with high probability for equivalent training transfer utilizing the Ford SMARTT assessment program. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background with Ford certifications and/or equivalent experience working with any major manufacturer. ASE certifications are a plus and have up to a 48% equivalent transfer to Ford training credentials. The day-to-day duties include but are not limited to diagnosis of vehicle systems, sub-systems, customer concerns, plus repair and upkeep of Ford branded vehicles both large and small.  Cars, Trucks, SUV, Modified units, and Crossovers we see it all.  We get to experience some of the latest technology and vehicle builds put out of Detroit onto our local roads.  What an exciting time to grow skills, learn an important craft, and make a living in the automotive transportation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with both Ford and Dealership policies.  Understanding policy and how to capitalize on your personal productivity.

  • Manufacturer specific diagnostic tools and equipment to be utilized for system and subsystem operating performance. 

  • Utilize your experience and skills working with complex Ford systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc. 

  • Rather specialize in a category or two?  We do customized technician schedules which allow for Ford category specialist adherence and promotes work flow.  Fleet focus or retail focus?  We have both options.

  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisors so that customers are informed accurately for progress and of any additional service is needed.

  • Properly organize needed vehicle services and repairs gathered from a standard inspection process.  Using quote building techniques and priority of vehicle needs as the supporting foundation.
  • Provide estimated time needed for diagnostics and repairs to maintain production schedule as a whole.

  • Execute all repairs to manufacturer specifications and documentation requirements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Service Technician experience preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • ASE Certification suggested and considered for Ford FAST training equivalency 

  • Ford Certifications a plus and required to be working towards if hired.  Other OE brand certifications considered for conversion through the FAST program, high percentage of core skills DO transfer between brands minimizing Ford certification process.

  • Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred.  Other OE brand dealership experience considered.

  • B level qualifications or greater desired.  Including Diagnostic principles, Electrical systems, and all other categories of the vehicle.

  • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination

  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to operate diagnostic equipment

  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies

  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve

  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment

  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively

  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures

  • Maintain Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Background check required prior to hiring
  • Clear Pre-Screen drug testing per Washington State guidelines required prior to hiring
