Take Your Automotive Career Beyond the Traditional Repair Shop
Are you an experienced automotive technician who's strong at diagnosing problems, fixing vehicles correctly, and figuring out the jobs other technicians struggle with?

Drive Tech ADAS is growing, and we're looking for experienced automotive technicians who want to take their mechanical and diagnostic skills into the rapidly expanding world of advanced vehicle technology.
You'll work on late-model vehicles performing mechanical repairs, diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and ADAS-related services for collision centers and other automotive businesses throughout the San Antonio market.

Already a strong mechanic but don't have extensive ADAS experience? We still want to talk to you. ADAS calibration experience is preferred, but training is available for the right technician with strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities.

Why Technicians Choose Drive Tech:
  • $80,000–$125,000+ annual earning potential based on experience, technical ability, and production.
  • Monday–Friday schedule.
  • No weekends.
  • Mobile/field-based work instead of spending every day inside the same repair shop.
  • Primarily B2B customers — work directly with collision centers and automotive professionals rather than a traditional retail service counter.
  • Work on late-model vehicles and advanced automotive technology.
  • Opportunity to expand your skills into ADAS calibration and advanced diagnostics.
  • Independence and ownership of your daily work.
  • Career growth with a rapidly expanding automotive technology company.
  • Potential sign-on bonus for select, highly qualified candidates.

What You'll Do:
As a Mobile Automotive Technician, you'll travel to customer locations throughout the San Antonio market to diagnose and repair vehicles and support Drive Tech's ADAS and calibration operations.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Perform automotive mechanical repairs and diagnostic services.
  • Diagnose vehicle concerns using scan tools, service information, OEM procedures, and hands-on repair experience.
  • Perform suspension, steering, electrical, mechanical, and general automotive repairs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Support ADAS-related repairs and calibration preparation.
  • Learn and perform ADAS-related procedures as your skills develop.
  • Follow OEM repair procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with collision centers and other automotive customers.
  • Complete accurate documentation for work performed.
  • Maintain an organized mobile work environment and equipment.
  • Manage your daily workload efficiently.
  • Work independently while communicating effectively with Drive Tech's operations team.

What We're Looking For:
We're looking for an experienced technician — not an entry-level mechanic.
The right candidate doesn't necessarily need to know everything about ADAS on day one. What matters most is having a strong automotive foundation, diagnostic ability, mechanical aptitude, professionalism, and the willingness to learn.

Strong Candidates Will Have:
  • Professional automotive repair experience.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience working with modern vehicle systems.
  • Ability to use scan tools and automotive service information.
  • Experience with suspension, steering, electrical, and general mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to fixing vehicles correctly.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Dependability and strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Professional basic automotive tool set, including common hand tools, sockets, wrenches, impact tools, ratcheting wrenches, and commonly used mechanical specialty tools.

3+ years of professional automotive repair experience is preferred. Candidates with less tenure but strong diagnostic and technical capabilities are encouraged to apply.

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out
We are especially interested in technicians with experience in one or more of the following:
  • Dealership service departments.
  • High-level independent repair facilities.
  • Collision repair.
  • Automotive electrical diagnostics.
  • Scan-tool diagnostics.
  • OEM repair procedures.
  • Vehicle programming.
  • Steering and suspension.
  • Advanced diagnostics.
  • ADAS systems or calibration.

Previous ADAS calibration experience is a plus, but it is not required for the right experienced automotive technician.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Monday–Friday
  • Start time: approximately 7:30 AM
  • Typical end time: approximately 5:30–6:00 PM, depending on workload.
  • This is a mobile/field-based position serving customers throughout the San Antonio market. Technicians should be comfortable traveling between customer locations and managing a changing daily workload.
  • Our business is service-driven, so priorities can change during the day. Successful Drive Tech technicians are adaptable, communicate well, and can shift gears when an important customer or job requires immediate attention.

Compensation:
Expected earning potential: $80,000–$125,000+ annually
Actual earnings will depend on experience, technical ability, productivity, and performance.
Drive Tech rewards technicians who can diagnose accurately, work efficiently, take ownership of their responsibilities, and consistently produce quality work.

Potential Sign-On Bonus:
A sign-on bonus may be offered to select, highly qualified candidates based on relevant experience, certifications, diagnostic capabilities, technical expertise, and overall fit.
Any sign-on bonus offered will be discussed during the hiring process and included in the candidate's written employment offer.

Who Does Well at Drive Tech?
You'll probably enjoy working here if you:
  • Take pride in fixing vehicles correctly the first time.
  • Enjoy diagnosing problems instead of simply replacing parts.
  • Like working independently.
  • Don't need to be micromanaged.
  • Can adapt when priorities change.
  • Enjoy learning new technology.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Want your skill and productivity to affect your earning potential.
  • Want to grow beyond traditional automotive repair.
  • Are looking for a long-term career rather than just your next job.
