Transdev in Sumter County, Florida, is seeking an experienced Technician I to bolster our team. This position requires the level of knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair commercial vehicles and equipment. This individual must have the ability to effectively work and communicate with employees and customers. Requirements include daily safety inspections, minimal reworks, and maintaining
production standards. Particular attention will be on timeliness and quality of repairs. As a Technician I, you"ll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our assets.

Major Responsibilities:
Diagnoses and accurately performs all phases of vehicle repairs
Removes, cleans, repairs, reinstalls, and adjusts vehicle components:
Engine emission components (State certification)
Driveline components
Electrical/ electronic components
Brakes/ suspension/ steering/ exhaust
Cab/ chassis
Various scan tools proficient
Ensures work orders are properly completed
Selects appropriate course of action for repairs
Evaluates completed work prior to release
Ensures safe use of power and hand-held tools
Performs road calls and emergency services as necessary
Moves vehicles safely between job and work area
Communicates professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors
Actively participates in safety or educational training as required
Continuous ASE/ EVT re-certification is required to remain in job classification
Other responsibilities as requested or required
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver's license.
This position requires a minimum of two (2) ASE Certifications. New employees must earn their two (2) certifications within their first year of employment.
Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects, climbing ladders/stairs/ramps or scaffolding, and using tools and equipment that require a high degree of manual dexterity.
Required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear, to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell. Must be able to lie on one"s back on a mechanic's dolly to work underneath motor vehicle equipment.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
