Automotive Test Engineer

We are recruiting for an Automotive Test Engineer to validate vehicle software and hardware products throughout the development lifecycle. This position will create and execute repeatable test procedures, troubleshoot product issues, and work closely with engineering teams to ensure systems meet functional, performance, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop validation plans and test cases from product and system requirements.

• Perform software, hardware, and vehicle testing and document results.

• Identify, reproduce, track, and communicate defects and specification gaps.

• Collaborate with software developers and project teams during product development.

• Support database population, product readiness, and application testing.

• Prepare installation instructions and user-support documentation for onboard systems.

• Assist with customer and field installations when needed.

• Support test-vehicle coordination, equipment organization, ECU wiring, and minor soldering.

• Drive test vehicles between the office and testing locations as required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience will be considered.

• At least two years of hands-on experience in software testing, systems testing, product validation, or quality assurance.

• Experience creating test plans, test cases, and validation procedures.

• Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols, onboard diagnostics, OBD systems, and automotive diagnostic tools.

• Understanding of automotive or heavy-duty vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electronic controls.

• Strong troubleshooting, defect tracking, analytical, and communication skills.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and engineering or test-management tools.

• Commercial Driver’s License or willingness to obtain one is preferred.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
