Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Autonomous Truck Integration & Validation Engineer (2nd shift 1:30pm - 12AM) to join our team in Tucson, AZ! We offer full benefits, PTO, 401k, and more! If you’re looking to grow your engineering career within an extremely reputable, stable Fortune 500 company — let’s talk!
We are seeking a skilled Autonomous Truck Integration & Validation Engineer to join our 2nd shift team, fully on-site in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will work as part of a large, collaborative engineering team responsible for the integration and validation of autonomous haul truck systems. You will be hands-on with large machines in real-world environments, executing test plans, analyzing data, and troubleshooting complex issues across hardware, software, and electrical systems.
This is a new addition to the team — an outstanding opportunity to develop deep expertise in autonomy systems, gain hands-on experience with heavy machinery, and collaborate directly with software developers and end customers to drive continuous improvement in autonomous machine performance and reliability.
• Hands-on experience with large machines: Gain practical knowledge and expertise working with heavy machinery in real-world scenarios.
• Understanding autonomy systems: Develop a deep understanding of hardware, software, and customer usage related to autonomous systems.
• Test and validation planning: Learn how to design and execute comprehensive test and validation plans for autonomous systems and machinery.
• On-machine testing: Acquire skills in conducting on-machine testing to ensure system functionality and reliability.
• Data analysis: Build proficiency in analyzing data to derive insights and improve system performance.
• Collaboration with software developers: Enhance communication and teamwork skills by interfacing with software development teams to align technical requirements.
• Customer interaction: Gain exposure to end customers, understanding their needs and feedback to improve product design and functionality.
• Create and update test and development plans for autonomous haul truck testing.
• Execute on-machine testing on autonomous haul trucks and related systems.
• Analyze test data to identify trends, validate performance, and drive system improvements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues encountered during autonomous haul truck testing.
• Thoroughly document and communicate issues found during testing to relevant stakeholders.
• Write test reports and provide recommendations based on testing experience and data analysis.
• Collaborate with onsite expert operators and interface with software developers in Peoria via Teams meetings and virtual collaboration.
• You will be part of a 31-member engineering team, with frequent day-to-day interaction with onsite expert operators and regular virtual collaboration with software developers in Peoria, IL.
• Collaboration occurs through in-person and virtual meetings, email, instant messaging, and face-to-face communication.
• Work site is located in a remote building on the property. The environment is hot, dry, and dusty — comparable to working in mining applications. Candidates must be comfortable with and physically capable of frequently ascending and descending large machines while carrying a backpack.
• This is a fully on-site, 2nd shift role in Tucson, AZ.
Requirements
• 5–7 years of relevant experience required. Candidates with a Master’s degree may be considered with fewer years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum required. In lieu of a degree, equivalent experience in test or development of control systems, vehicles, engines, or autonomy technologies will be considered.
• Internship experience may be counted toward the required years of experience.
• Comparable backgrounds include roles in vehicle test or validation, or experience working directly with the type of equipment produced.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Windows operating systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex systems (mechanical, electrical, and/or software).
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Windows operating systems and standard computer applications.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability across complex systems involving mechanical, electrical, or software components.
• Experience with Ubuntu or Linux operating systems.
• Experience with test planning and technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with autonomous systems such as perception, planning, or positioning.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically in complex, dynamic environments.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across multi-disciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
