Vehicle Installation Technician – San Francisco, CA
Pay: $30–$40 per hour
Location: San Francisco, CA
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Shifts Available:
- AM Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- PM Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Training Schedule:
First 2 weeks are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Great experience to have for this position
- Experience working at independent automotive repair shops, performance garages, or specialty vehicle service centers
- Hands-on experience installing car audio systems, alarms, remote starts, or other automotive accessories
- Vocational training or education from an automotive trade school or technical program
- Experience assembling or repairing components in the aerospace or aviation industry (drone-related experience not included)
- Practical experience building, repairing, or upgrading computers, electronics, engines, or other mechanical projects
Additional backgrounds considered:
- Autonomous Vehicle Operators (AVOs) and Software Testers with strong hands-on mechanical skills outside their primary role. Examples include restoring or modifying project vehicles, performing automotive repairs, engine swaps, fabrication, or previous experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
Job Duties
- Install hardware and technology systems on vehicles
- Use hand tools and basic power tools
- Mount and secure parts on vehicles
- Connect wiring and electrical components
- Test systems to make sure everything works
- Inspect work for quality and safety
- Follow step-by-step instructions carefully
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Report problems to supervisors or engineers
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with mechanical work, installations, or assembly
- Comfortable using tools
- Good attention to detail
- Able to follow diagrams and instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Able to stand, bend, and work around vehicles all day
