Description

The Auxiliary Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse operations in support of campus housing and auxiliary services. This position provides leadership and direction for warehouse staff while ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, repair, delivery, and pickup of furniture, equipment, and materials. The supervisor is responsible for maintaining organized inventory systems, ensuring accurate work order completion, promoting exceptional customer service, and enforcing safety standards throughout all warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while supporting the operational needs of campus departments and residential facilities.

Examples of Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including furniture repair, delivery, pickup, storage, and distribution activities.
  • Assign, monitor, and evaluate work orders to ensure timely completion according to established schedules and service standards.
  • Lead and support warehouse personnel by providing guidance, training, and oversight of daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming inventory, furniture, equipment, and materials to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Oversee the loading, unloading, movement, and storage of furniture, equipment, and supplies within warehouse and campus facilities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate deliveries, pickups, relocations, and installations for residence halls, offices, and other campus departments.
  • Assist with furniture assembly, setup, maintenance, and minor repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure adherence to established inventory control procedures.
  • Monitor warehouse conditions to ensure cleanliness, organization, security, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Operate and oversee the safe operation of warehouse equipment, vehicles, and material handling tools.
  • Collaborate with campus departments, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, inventory management, and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies, university procedures, and applicable safety standards.

Typical Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, facilities management, moving services, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment and material handling tools preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education, residential facilities, or auxiliary services operations.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse best practices.
  • Experience coordinating furniture repair, installation, relocation, and storage projects.
  • Ability to perform any and all reasonable University-related tasks requested by Auxiliary Enterprises leadership

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Ability to regularly lift, move, and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for handling, moving, and organizing furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and university vehicles.
  • Work is performed in warehouse, storage, and campus environments with exposure to varying conditions, including:
  • Wet and humid conditions (non-weather related)
  • Extreme temperatures in non-climate-controlled environments
  • Dust, moving equipment, and other warehouse-related conditions
  • Frequent work outside normal business hours may be required to support operational and student needs.
