Summary of Position: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Desktop Technician to provide on-site and remote technical support to our employees. The ideal candidate will be responsible for resolving a wide range of hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. This role requires excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Job Duties:
Maintain and update an accurate inventory of desktop equipment, ensuring proper asset management and adherence to company policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute the setup and maintenance of audio-visual systems, including conference rooms, presentation equipment, and video conferencing solutions.
Develop and implement best practices for AV system configuration, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal audio and visual quality.
Conduct regular assessments of AV equipment, identifying opportunities for upgrades or replacements to meet evolving technological requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise.
Collaborate with vendors and external service providers to coordinate maintenance and repairs of AV equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
Travel to different locations as required to provide on-site support, perform installations, and oversee AV system setups and upgrades.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a
State's Department of Education
Four years of satisfactory, full-time experience in computer maintenance and repair,
one year of which must have been in the supervision of staff performing computer maintenance and repair.
Strong understanding of audio-visual systems, equipment, and technologies, including projectors, displays, video conferencing, and sound systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop and AV-related issues, including hardware, software, and network connectivity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with end-users, stakeholders, and vendors.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel to different agency locations as required.
Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York. Employees must maintain the license for the duration of their employment.
