Position Summary
The Aviation ADA Compliance Coordinator supports the Aviation Department in maintaining operational compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as City programs and services. Coordinate and assist with activities related to facility adherence to codes and regulations related to Americans with Disability Act (ADA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements, and other regulatory agencies related to Aviation operations. Monitor and assist in ensuring the department meets requirements set by the relevant federal agencies for the airports.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, sociology, social services, constructi8on management, or a related field; and
Five (5) years of experience in ADA compliance, accommodation evaluations, or design and construction.
To include two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Experience in municipal program compliance is preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Drivers License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operators Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
Must complete ADA Coordinator Training Certificate within six (6) months of hire.
Must successfully pass FBI criminal history background check including fingerprinting.
Must be able to successfully qualify for and maintain a Sunport Access Control Card as determined by the criteria set forth by the policies and guidelines of the Aviation Department and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Successful completion of a security background check conducted by U.S. Customs & Border Protection, if applicable.
Working Conditions
Environmental:
Office environment; exposure to computer screens and Airport environment, exposure to inclement weather, dust, fumes, noise, gases and extreme temperatures
Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for walking, sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time; May be required to lift items weighing fifty pounds or more; May be required to operate motor vehicle.
