Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced civil engineer with a background in airfield and landside design and construction to join our Aviation Civil Engineering team in Tampa, Florida or West Palm Beach, Florida. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of airport infrastructure through the planning, design, and delivery of complex airfield and landside improvement projects. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of aviation professionals who are passionate about creating innovative, resilient, and sustainable solutions for airports of all sizes—including major commercial hubs and military installations.You will play a vital role in the development of airfield and landside planning and design for airport improvement projects. The AECOM Florida Aviation Team currently has assignments across the state at airports ranging from large hubs to general aviation facilities, including Tampa International Airport, Orlando International Airport, Palm Beach International Airport, Gainesville Regional Airport, Punta Gorda Airport and numerous others.Job Summary:Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of airport engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, vehicle service roads, airfield lighting and signage installation, navigational aids, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation.Developing civil airfield design and construction improvement documentsCoordinate with planning and design team members, contractors, and sub-consultants for ongoing planning, design, and construction projects.Perform aviation-related civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service AirportsInvolved with projects from start to completion including planning, design, and construction administration of airports, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans.Collaborating and/or coordinating with delivery teams consisting of multi-disciplined design engineers and techniciansAutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D design manager dutiesAnalyze GIS data, client as-builts, survey data, geotechnical data, subsurface utility information, and data needed for project development.Supervise, coordinate, and produce several projects concurrently.Coordinate with clients, funding agencies, state aviation officials, FAA, and local permit Agencies.Includes regular site visits during the design and construction phases of airport improvement projects throughout the State of FloridaQualificationsMinimum:BS Civil Engineering4 years of airport/airfield planning or civil engineering design related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred:Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D DesignExperience in airport improvements from planning through the design and construction phaseExperience and knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and Airport Design and Engineering StandardsEI preferably State of Florida6 plus years of aviation/airport civil engineeringAdditional InformationSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this positionRelocation assistance is not an option for this positionAbout AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
