Our Aviation Buildings team is growing, and we're looking for a talented Aviation Architect / Project Manager to join our Charlotte office and support exciting aviation projects with a focus at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.This is an opportunity to work on impactful aviation facilities and complex airport environments alongside architects, engineers, planners, and environmental specialists who collaborate to deliver integrated, future‑focused solutions. Aviation architecture at RS&H blends civic, commercial, hospitality, retail, workplace, and transportation design into highly complex and dynamic project environments.We're looking for a collaborative architect and project leader who enjoys balancing design, technical execution, client relationships, and project leadership in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.In This Role, You Will:Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of aviation and transportation‑related projectsWork closely with airport clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative architectural solutionsHelp manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and coordination effortsPrepare and review technical documentation, drawings, and specificationsCoordinate with consultants and internal teams to support successful project delivery from concept through constructionMentor junior architects and technical staff while fostering a collaborative team environmentConduct quality reviews, field observations, and construction coordination activitiesSupport project pursuits, presentations, and client engagement effortsHelp identify and pursue new business opportunities while building strong client relationshipsOversee project progress and proactively resolve challenges to maintain alignment with project goals, schedules, and budgetsCollaborate across disciplines to ensure integrated, high‑quality project solutionsRepresent RS&H at industry events, conferences, and client meetingsWhat We're Looking ForWe're seeking a talented architect and project manager who brings strong technical expertise, communication skills, leadership ability, and a passion for complex aviation project delivery.Required QualificationsRegistered Architect in good standing7+ years of architectural design experienceExperience working on major projects or multiple moderate‑sized projectsDemonstrated experience collaborating with multidisciplinary design teamsStrong architectural design and construction document development capabilitiesDemonstrated Revit BIM production and coordination experienceExcellent communication and interpersonal relationship skillsProven ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staffAbility and willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements, project activities, site visits, industry events, and professional development opportunities.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited universityPrevious project management experienceNCARB certificationAviation, transportation, commercial, institutional, or large‑scale project experienceExperience with design‑build project deliveryVisualization and graphic capabilities including Adobe Suite, Photoshop, SketchUp, Enscape, Rhino, or TwinmotionExperience with Bluebeam and related production toolsCross‑discipline coordination experience preferredAn Equal Opportunity Employer.
