Position Specific Description

The Aviation Business Operations Manager is a newly created, cross-functional leadership role responsible for infrastructure, logistics, inventory, and strategic projects. This position is designed to enhance operational effectiveness, improve workload distribution, and strengthen readiness for upcoming organizational transitions, including leadership changes and integration activities.

Position Structure

Reports to the Sr. Maintenance Manager and provides functional oversight of facilities contractors, inventory management, and aviation support programs. This position will manage the Aviation Services Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Facilities & Infrastructure Management
  • Oversee all aviation-related facilities operations, capital project planning and tracking
  • Manage aviation facility operating budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure tracking
  • Coordinate maintenance, vendor relationships, and facility improvements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable FAA, environmental, safety, and corporate standards
  • Manage department vehicle including all lease and maintenance issues
  1. Inventory, Stockroom & Parts Management
  • Manage stockroom operations, including parts inventory, consumables, tracking, and replenishment
  • Oversee CAMP inventory systems and ensure accurate parts receiving and documentation
  • Implement controls to improve inventory visibility and efficiency
  1. Operational Support
  • Maintain all GSE equipment and maintenance
  • Coordinate aircraft corrosion control, appearance, preservation, and related vendor services
  • Help rebalance workload distribution, particularly relieving non-core responsibilities from maintenance leadership
  • Provide backup operational and dispatch support to ensure seamless daily aviation activities
  1. Project & Cross-Functional Support
  • Support aviation-related projects, including continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with merger integration activities impacting aviation operations
  • Partner across functions (IT, operations, maintenance) to drive execution of critical initiatives
  1. Storm Planning & Emergency Readiness
  • Lead or support storm planning and execution efforts for aviation operations
  • Ensure preparedness protocols, coordination plans, and response activities are in place
  1. IT Coordination & Systems Support
  • Act as liaison between Aviation and IT for system needs, issue resolution, and enhancements
  • Support operational systems tied to inventory, dispatch, and facilities

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Aviation Management, Operations, Business, or related field
  • FAA Part 91 operational experience preferred
  • Experience supporting aviation maintenance and logistics operations
  • 5+ years of experience in aviation operations, or a related operational role
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and project management capabilities
  • Experience with aviation inventory systems (e.g., CAMP or similar) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both operational execution and strategic initiatives

  • Strengthen aviation operational effectiveness by addressing gaps in facilities and operational support
  • Reduce administrative and non-core burden on the Maintenance Manager, enabling greater focus on core maintenance activities
  • Provide continuity and stability ahead of planned leadership transitions within the department
  • Enhance the department's ability to support integration and enterprise projects

Additionally, the Aviation Business Operations Manager provides functional oversight of facilities contractors, inventory management, and aviation support programs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee aviation facilities, infrastructure, capital projects, and vendor relationships to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations
  • Manage facility operating budgets, capital expenditures, department vehicles, and related operational resources
  • Direct stockroom operations, inventory control, parts tracking, and replenishment to maintain accurate and efficient inventory management
  • Administer aviation inventory systems, including parts receiving, documentation, and inventory process improvements
  • Coordinate ground support equipment maintenance, aircraft appearance, corrosion control, and related vendor services
  • Provide operational support by balancing departmental workloads and serving as backup for aviation operations and dispatch activities
  • Lead and support cross-functional projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and aviation integration efforts
  • Develop and coordinate storm preparedness, emergency response plans, and operational readiness activities
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Aviation and IT to support operational systems, resolve issues, and implement technology enhancements
  • Supervise the Aviation Services Specialist while providing cross-functional leadership to strengthen operational performance and strategic execution
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Aviation Management, Operations, Business, or related field
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in aviation operations, or a related operational role
