However, we will also consider candidates based in Boston, MA; Laurel, MD; New York, NY; or Alexandria, VA .Your role As part of our aviation team, you'll gain hands‑on experience supporting the design and development of critical airport infrastructure:Assist in designing and developing plans for runway, taxiway, and apron improvements at major hub and regional airportsContribute to preliminary layouts and final engineering drawings using industry‑standard toolsSupport research on design alternatives, value engineering, and airfield site conditionsHelp evaluate FAA and other regulatory requirements to ensure compliancePrepare preliminary estimates for project costs, materials, and level of effortParticipate in quality control reviews, including checking calculations, drawings, and design accuracyCollaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams, including planners, environmental specialists, and construction professionalsGain field experience by observing airfield and apron construction activities, as applicableAbout you Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)4+ years of experience (internships or relevant coursework in aviation or highways preferred)Strong interest in airport infrastructure, airfield design, or transportation engineeringEagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow in a fast‑paced aviation environmentExposure to aviation or highway design projects is highly desirableFamiliarity with CAD or civil engineering design tools preferredInterest in working on runway expansions, taxiway geometry, or apron layout designRewards & benefits At AtkinsRéalis, our values—Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence—are more than just words.
