Position Summary
Located 45 minutes from the Nation's Capital, nestled in a history-rich community of southern Maryland, The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) has been twice named in the top 150 community colleges by the Aspen Institute with academic programs in over 100 disciplines. This position is a grant-funded full-time, year-round Aviation Maintenance Technology faculty and program coordinator position located at the Regional Hughesville campus location in Charles County Maryland at College of Southern Maryland, a regional community college. The faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities to promote student-centered learning.
The faculty member will teach 9-12 credits per semester; 18-24 credits annually. The faculty member will schedule, publish, and hold 5 office hours per week during the academic year, including fall and spring semesters. The faculty member will participate in professional development opportunities and perform professional service hours based on faculty placement in rank, as set forth in the Faculty Handbook.
In addition to the above responsibilities, this faculty member coordinates various aspects of the College of Southern Maryland's Aviation Maintenance Technology Program, including during the summer. The program coordinator duties include such activities as scheduling of courses, hiring adjunct faculty, observing adjunct faculty, and fielding student feedback about department, course, and program questions and concerns. Other responsibilities include advising students of co-op/internship opportunities and working with Advisement and Career Services, the Aviation Maintenance Technology Advisory Council, and local employers to assist students with job placement and transfer.

Full-time employees must promptly disclose in writing, on a form available from the Human Resources Office, to the college all other full-time employment or its equivalent in independent consulting.
