Type of Appointment: Unclassified - Faculty 12 month

Salary: $71,516 - $96,155 (Salary commensurate with rank.)

 

What You'll Do: 

• Teach approved aviation maintenance curriculum through effective classroom, laboratory, and hands-on instruction.
• Prepare course materials, syllabi, assignments, assessments, and final examinations in accordance with College and program standards.
• Instruct students in the safe and proper use of aircraft, tools, equipment, supplies, and laboratory facilities.
• Create an inclusive, respectful, student-centered learning environment that supports students with varied backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.
• Monitor attendance, academic progress, grades, and student learning outcomes; maintain accurate records and submit required reports on time.
• Advise, mentor, tutor, and refer students to appropriate academic, career, and support services.
• Help students pursue employment, certification, licensure, and advanced educational opportunities.
• Maintain positive relationships with aviation employers and industry representatives to support workforce development, job placement, and supplemental training opportunities.
• Participate in program advisory committee meetings, recruitment and retention activities, registration, graduation, open houses, professional development, and College committees.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum, instructional strategies, laboratory resources, and student outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with College policies, accreditation standards, FAA requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Represent the College with professionalism and contribute to a culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications: 

• Current FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• At least five years of related aviation maintenance experience or equivalent military experience.
• Experience at or above the highest level of skill being taught.
• One of the following:
      o Associate degree from an accredited college or university in aviation maintenance or a related discipline.
      o Associate degree plus relevant professional experience and required industry certifications.
      o Ten or more years of relevant professional experience at or above the highest level of skill being taught.
• Ability to serve as the school administrator for applicable FAA requirements.
• Strong instructional, organizational, communication, and computer skills.
• Commitment to student success, safety, professionalism, and inclusive teaching practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Prior teaching experience at the college, technical, or high school level.
• Experience delivering FAA Part 147-aligned aviation maintenance instruction.
• Experience developing curriculum, assessing student learning, or working with aviation industry partners.
