Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you will guide multidisciplinary teamsengineers, architects, designers, and technical specialiststhrough the full lifecycle of aviation projects. From the first proposal discussion to the final close out meeting, you are the person who ensures that each project is delivered efficiently, collaboratively, and at the highest level of technical excellence.

You'll serve as the central connection point between clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and internal design teams. Whether coordinating with FAA representatives, state DOTs, or airport authorities, you'll bring clarity, structure, and confidence to complex conversations and evolving project needs. Strong communication and organization will be essential as you manage resources, schedules, budgets, and documentationkeeping stakeholders informed and engaged every step of the way.

Your day-to-day work will be both strategic and hands-on: resolving technical challenges, facilitating design reviews, ensuring quality control, and guiding the development of drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and permitting packages. You will actively monitor project progressanticipating risks, identifying opportunities, and championing solutions that keep scope, cost, and schedule on track.

This role is also an opportunity to mentor. You'll support junior engineers and technical staff as they grow, sharing expertise across disciplines and encouraging a collaborative learning environment. And as a visible representative of the firm, you will help strengthen client relationships, contribute to project pursuits, and support on site project or program management when needed.

Here's what you'll need:

BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), AIA membership designation, Professional Project Management (PPM) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Proven experience leading aviation design and/or construction projects, with a strong track record supporting Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) and other Washington, DCarea aviation agencies.

Deep familiarity with MWAA technical requirements, processes, design standards, permitting pathways, and construction coordination protocols, as well as experience navigating stakeholder reviews with regional aviation authorities.

Outstanding listening, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information clearly.

Strength in presenting data, project progress, and design concepts in a structured and compelling way.

Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational abilities with attention to detail.

An understanding of the LEED certification process and sustainable design considerations for aviation infrastructure.

Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements as they relate to aviation construction environments.

Posted Salary Range: Minimum 154,700.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 205,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $154,700.00 to $205,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
