Avionics - Lead Embedded Software Design & Verification Engineer (DO-178) - Remote - APR 26 -0802

Our client based in US and Ireland is seeking experienced Software Engineers with expertise in DAL (DO-178) to work on Aerospace Systems Projects. You will play a key role in developing and certifying safety-critical avionics systems, ensuring compliance with FAA/EASA/NASA regulations.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in C for embedded systems

• Good understanding of:

• Control theory (PID loops, feedback systems)

• Embedded systems and microcontroller architecture

• Familiarity with motor control microcontrollers or DSP platforms (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, TI C2000)

• Understanding of PWM generation, ADC sampling, and timing constraints in control loops

• Experience with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART)

• Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-178C)

• Experience with HIL/SIL testing environments

• Experience leading requirement, design, and code reviews

• Experience writing software plans (PSAC, SDP, SAS) and leading DO-178 audits

• Experience interacting with customers

• Ability to lead embedded software teams

• Project management task assignments and budget tracking

Pluses:

• Exposure to simulation/modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Embedded Systems
• 5-10+ years of experience leading design and verification, mentoring junior engineers, and performing system-level integration
