Role Sorian Aerospace is building a high‑performance fighter‑class jet for adversary air (Red Air) missions and advanced pilot training. The goal: deliver the maneuverability, integrated electronic warfare, BVR targeting, autonomous flight, CCA interoperability, and flight experience of front‑line fighters — at a fraction of the cost. As an Avionics Engineer, you'll work hands‑on with the avionics lead to design, build, and integrate the full flight electronics stack — including compute modules, sensors, displays, and wiring. You'll be responsible for building the hardware and firmware that makes the aircraft fly, communicate, and adapt. We're looking for high‑agency builders who want to ship and iterate fast.Responsibilities Design custom PCBs and avionics modules for onboard computing, sensors, and I/ODevelop and integrate flight computer logic, including power distribution, signal conditioning, and redundancyBuild and test wiring harnesses, sensor packages, and communication busesWork closely with flight controls, autonomy, and systems teams to integrate full‑stack avionicsCreate clean, testable hardware and firmware that survives real‑world flight environmentsSupport build, integration, and test cycles — including ground and flight test campaignsRequirements 2–6 years of experience designing avionics systems or embedded hardwareProficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle) and schematic captureFamiliarity with flight computers, embedded firmware, and aircraft wiring standardsWorking knowledge of I/O protocols (CAN, ARINC, RS‑422, Ethernet)Comfortable debugging both hardware and software at the bench or on the aircraftU.S. citizenship or permanent residency requiredResults Deliver avionics hardware that works from day one of flight testSupport fast iteration and upgrades as the platform evolvesHelp build a high‑trust culture of engineering rigor and system‑level thinkingAvailability Full‑time, based in Long Beach, CASome evenings and weekends may be required during integration and test eventsCompensation Range $120,000–$180,000 base salarymeaningful equitycomplete healthcare benefits for you and your dependentsCompany Core Values We run it hotter.
