Summary:
Defines data networks and avionics architectures for various aircraft platforms.
Integrates aircraft systems considering functional and physical integration with other aircraft systems.
Applies guidance material including Advisory Circulars, current compliance paths, and rule-making trends for aircraft data networks and distributed computing.
Performs cross-functional development and critical analysis with organizations internal and external to Engineering including Flight Test, Program Management, and Suppliers.
Plans research and development programs and recommends technological application programs to meet corporate objectives.
Promotes process initiatives that improve the balance of technical product, cost, and schedule.
Applies cutting edge theories and technologies by exhibiting exceptional ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Champions and develops innovative principles and ideas for new product and business development.
Acts independently and exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
Serves as recognized expert providing consultative services to senior and executive leaders within the company and industry.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
20+ years of experience developing Data Networks or Avionics architectures for various platforms.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
15+ years progressively responsible engineering experience in specific technical discipline with Bachelor's.
Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Broad experience and knowledge of aircraft systems and their integration with other systems.
Working knowledge of guidance material including Advisory Circulars, compliance paths, and rule-making trends.
Experience with cross-functional development and critical analysis with organizations including Flight Test, Program Management, and Suppliers.
Preferred: Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum.
